Small Town Fourth of July Parade (with Zombies)

Independence Day parade, Douglasville, Georgia. Lucy Mercer/A Cook and Her Books

My suburban county becomes a small town again each 4th of July when we gather downtown for the annual parade. Like many parades across the country, ours features a marching band, vintage cars, politicians, churches, small businesses, beauty queens and... zombies. What, your parade doesn't have zombies?
